Kabul (BNA) As many as 175 anti-government militias were killed and 84 others were wounded following clashes and reciprocal attacks of Afghan security forces in the past 24 hours.
Ministry of Defense by releasing a statement reported, the insurgents have been targeted in various parts of Nangarhar, Paktika, Logar, Ghazni, Kandahar, Herat, Balkh, Jawzjan, Samangan, Sar-e-Pul, Helmand, Badakhshan, Kunduz and Baghlan provinces.
Some heavy and light weapons and ammunitions belonged to the rebels have been destroyed following the conflicts and raids, the statement added.
Meanwhile, Afghan security personnel by discovering and confiscating 9 round of different type of mines succeeded to prevent several bloodiest incidents.
The mines have planted by Taliban fighters to target innocent civilians and Afghan security troops, local officials said.
