50 Taliban Insurgents Killed in Laghman Operation

Kabul (BNA) Fifty Taliban insurgents were killed in a special commando operation in two districts of Laghman last night.

Fawad Aman, Deputy Spokesman of the Ministry of National Defense, told BNA, the joint operations were launched in Alishang and Alingar districts of Laghman under the leadership of General Mohammad Yasin Zia, the Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Defense.

In the latest development, more than 50 Taliban, including key commander Zalmai and several prominent Taliban commanders and foreign terrorists, were killed and 60 others were wounded.

Also, a number of heavy and light weapons of the enemy have been destroyed.

In this operation, the center of Laghman to Alingar district and Alishang district of this province have been cleared from Taliban insurgents, the advance of defense and security forces continues successfully.
