Abdullah and Karzai Stressed the End of Violence in the Country

Trenkot (BNA) Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chairman of the Supreme National Reconciliation Council and former President Hamid Karzai yesterday discussed the second round of peace talks, progress and the strengthening of national and international consensus in support of the peace process.

“The meeting, which took place at the Sepidar Palace, both emphasized the immediate escalation of violence in the country,” said the press office of the High Council for Reconciliation.

The chairman of the Supreme National Reconciliation Council has said that delays in peace talks are unacceptable.

Meanwhile, a meeting between the leaders and a number of members of the negotiating team of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the Taliban was held in Doha on Sunday evening after a two-week hiatus.
