Acting Minister of Information and Culture Meet With UN Special Representative of Secretary-General for Afghanistan

Kabul (BNA) Mullah Khairullah Khairkhah, Acting Minister of Information and Culture, met with Deborah Lyons, Special Representative of UN Secretary-General for Afghanistan, in his office yesterday.

According to the BNA reporter, during the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and cooperation.

At the beginning of the meeting, Ms. Deborah Lyons briefed on the UN activities in Afghanistan and said that the organization works in the fields of health, education, agriculture, humanitarian aid and other important areas, noting that the UN as in the past, it is ready for any kind of assistance and cooperation with Afghanistan in various sectors.

The UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Afghanistan assured that she would speak to countries in the region and the world and share with them the country’s progress and problems in order to support Afghanistan.

Acting Minister of Information and Culture Mullah Khairullah Khairkhah also thanked the United Nations for its assistance and co-operation and stressed bilateral co-operation.

Khairkhah said that the policy of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is to solve problems through understanding and negotiation, not by coercion and pressure.

He added that the world should help and cooperate with the Afghans, but let them decide for themselves.

According to Mullah Khairullah Khairkhah, corruption in Afghanistan has now been reduced to zero and the world can continue its activities and cooperation with full confidence.

The Acting of the Ministry of Information and Culture also noted that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan works for the peace and comfort of the people and wants to provide better living conditions for them.

At the end of the meeting, joint cooperation was emphasized in various sectors.
