Kabul (BNA) President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, met with the Japanese Ambassador to Kabul, Takashi Okada, here in his office yesterday, a statement said.
Both sides discussed the expansion of cooperation between the two countries and the continuation of Dr. Nakamura’s projects in Afghanistan, according to presidential palace statement. President Ghani called Japan a longtime friend of Afghanistan and thanked the country for its assistance and cooperation in various fields over the past two decades, as well as their new commitments at the Geneva Conference.
The President, as quoted in the statement, added that the Government of Afghanistan will support and will continue Nakamura projects, especially in the areas of water management and agricultural development. In return, the Japanese Ambassador to Afghanistan assured his country’s continued assistance and cooperation in various fields.
