Kabul (BNA) A mini-bus belonging to the defense ministry of Afghanistan came under a suicide attack in the Pul-i-Artal area of the 7th police district of Kabul city later yesterday afternoon.
The mini bus was more likely transporting off duty officials from the defense ministry as the attack took place after 04:00PM. The minibus looked completely burned and ambulances were seen assisting the casualties at the site.
Taliban have claimed responsibility for the attack. According to another report, a number of armed insurgents attacked demining personnel in southern Helmand, killing 12 workers yesterday afternoon. The armed assailants attacked the demining workers near the Camp Bastion, a previously UK-run military base, in Shorabak district, Governor’s spokesman Omar Zwak said.
After the attack on demining workers, Zwak added the insurgents began clashing with the Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers; as a result three assailants were killed and four others were detained. The Police have started investigations in this regard, Zwak said while denying commenting on whether the ANA forces were harmed in the fighting.
