Afghanistan’s Largest Medicine Factory Is On The Verge of Opening

Kabul (BNA) A medicine factory is being built in Kandahar at a cost of 50 million dollars, with the participation of dozens of Afghan investors.

Construction of the Sanofarma Medicine factory began at least five years ago in Aino Mina town in Kandahar and is still ongoing.

Kandahar Chamber of Commerce and Investment official told BNA that the factory will start producing medicine in another year.

The medicine factory in Kandahar will be the largest medicine station in Afghanistan.

Earlier, the Ministry of Public Health said that the factory would be able to produce up to one ton of medicine per day.

Health experts say the opening of the factory will greatly reduce Afghanistan’s need for medicine made in other countries.
