Belgium, Austrian Envoys Assure Continued Cooperation With Afghanistan

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani bid farewell to Philippe Bronchain, Belgium’s non-resident ambassador for Afghanistan and accepted the credentials of new Austrian ambassador during separate ceremonies here yesterday at the presidential palace, a statement said yesterday.

The meeting, which was held at the presidential palace, focused on bilateral cooperation, the Afghan peace process and a new chapter in cooperation between Afghanistan and the international community, according to presidential palace statement.

Wishing Philippe Bronchine success in his future missions, President Ghani praised Belgium’s assistance and cooperation to Afghanistan over the past two decades, especially the country’s cooperation in the framework of the Resolute Support Mission for Afghanistan.

The non-resident ambassador of Belgium said that he was satisfied with his mission in Afghanistan, valued the preservation of the achievements of the last two decades, especially women’s rights and human rights, and assured the continuation of his country’s cooperation with Afghanistan.

Meanwhile according to another statement from the presidential palace, President Ghani received the credentials of the new Austrian Ambassador for Afghanistan.

During the ceremony, which took place at the presidential palace, both sides discussed the expansion of relations between the two countries, the Afghan peace process and the new chapter of cooperation between Afghanistan and the international community.

The new Austrian non-resident ambassador expressed his satisfaction with the start of his mission in Afghanistan and, while emphasizing the preservation of the achievements of the last two decades, also assured the continuation of his country’s assistance and cooperation to Afghanistan in various fields.
