Bomb Blast Destroys School In Zabul

Monday, August 15, 2016
Qalat (BNA) A bomb blast explosion organized by militants destroyed a primary school in southern Zabul province a local official said on Sunday.
"Militants exploded an explosive device inside a school in Shahr-e-Safa district early Saturday and destroyed the building," district governor Abdul Samad Durani said.
Since the attack happened early morning, no one was hurt in the blast, the official asserted.
The official, however, blamed the enemies of peace, a reference to the Taliban for organizing the blast.
Taliban militants who had outlawed modern education and girls school during their rule which collapsed in late 2001 are yet to claim responsibility.
More than 400 schools have been shut down due to security reasons in southern parts of Afghanistan where Taliban militants are operational.
