Gardiz (BNA) One child was martyred and four others were injured when a mine exploded in Paktia.
The incident took place in the suburbs of Ariob district bazaar yesterday.
Children were reportedly passing by a village when a roadside bomb exploded.
Paktia police spokesman Hayatullah Nezami Ahmadzai told BNA that one child was martyred and four others were injured in the blast.
Doctors at a clinic in Paktia reported that the health of two injured children in the blast was critical.
No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the blast, but the Taliban have previously been blamed for such bombings in Afghanistan.
