Commando Forces Released 27 Prisoners from Taliban Prison

Jalalabad (BNA) Commando Forces released 27 people from a Taliban prison in Helmand’s Nahrsaraj district in a special operation last night.

Fawad Aman, deputy spokesman for the Ministry of Defense, told BNA that during a special commando operation on a Taliban prison in Nahr-e-Saraj district of Helmand province, 27 of our compatriots, including a former soldier, were released.

The detainees were severely tortured by the Taliban and treated.

Aman said that during the operation, a guard was killed and some weapons and ammunition and a Burmese base used by the Taliban to destroy roads were recovered.
