Kabul (BNA) The contract for exploitation, development and production of cement and coal of Pahlawanan of Herat was concluded yesterday by the Minister of Mines Waheedullah Shahrani and Director of Peshgaman of Industry of Majd.
On the basis of this contract the company by investing of USD 150 million for 30 years will construct establishments of cement production with annual production capacity of one million tons.
The company will also build up a health clinic for residents of the area, residential quarter for workers, building of higher education center, building of mosque, recreation sites, rehabilitation of 11 km of road from the main road to the factory, school for children of workers and the residents of the area and in case any damage happen to the public properties the company compensate that as well.
This project has been placed on bid in accordance with the resolution of the Council of Ministers and 13 companies expressed their willingness of which 5 companies were specified as eligible for investment and after obtaining their proposed approaches this company won the bidding and the results of the assessment was confirmed by the assigned committee of the CM and adopted by the cabinet meeting.
