COVID-19: Afghanistan Records 16 New Cases, 4 Deaths

Kabul (BNA) The Ministry of Public Health on Tuesday reported 16 new positive cases of COVID-19 out of 1,837 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

The ministry also reported four deaths and 67 recoveries from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours across the country.

The new cases were reported in provinces of Herat (2), Kabul (3), Kandahar (1), Takhar (2), Nangarhar (3), Baghlan (1), Maidan Wardak (1), Badakhshan (1), Helmand (1) and Laghman (1).

The death was reported in provinces of Kabul (2), Herat (1) and Laghman (1), according to data provided by the Ministry of Public Health.

The ministry says the cumulative total of known COVID-19 cases is 55,402, the total number of reported deaths is 2,418, and the total number of recoveries is 48,109.

So far, 266,628 samples have been tested in government centers and there are 4,875 known active COVID-19 cases in the country, data by the ministry indicates.

The number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 2,326,568 and the number of known global coronavirus cases is 106,512,038, according to Johns Hopkins University.
