Kabul (BNA) Dozens of Taliban insurgents have been killed in Shulgara district of Balkh yesterday.
Adel Shah Adel, spokesman for Balkh police chief, told BNA that the Taliban were killed in an operation by the defense, security and air mobilization forces backed by the air force in Shulgara district of the province.
Among those killed were Qari Khalil, known as Abu Omar, in charge of the Taliban’s tithes and zakat for Shulgara district, and several of their leaders.
He added that several other Taliban were wounded in the operation and more than ten of their car and motorcycle were also destroyed.
