Eighty-Two Members of Taliban Killed

Kabul (BNA) Defense Ministry says 82 Taliban insurgents have been killed and 30 others wounded in the past 24 hours in clashes with security forces.

One hundred and twelve members of the Taliban have been killed and wounded in pre-emptive operations by security forces in six provinces, according to a news release issued by the Ministry of Defense’s press office yesterday.

According to the newsletter, 82 Taliban were killed and 30 others were wounded in clashes and defensive attacks by defense and security forces in Kandahar, Nangarhar, Laghman, Herat, Uruzgan and Kapisa and a large amount of weapons and ammunition were destroyed.

Also, 74 mines planted by the Taliban in different parts of the country were discovered and defused.
