Protection of This Land Is Difficult Without National Unity: President Ahmadzai

Kabul (BNA) Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met yesterday with a number of elders and influenced figures of Kandahar, Urzgan, Helmand and Zabul provinces. According to presidential press office to BNA, in the meeting held at presidential palace, Hajji Nimatullah Shirdelli, representing others spoke and congratulated election of Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai as the country’s President.
Elders and influenced figures of Kandahar, Urzgan, Helmand and Zabul provinces praised the President for his works in the past 20 days, saying the people of these provinces were supporting measures adopted by the President and standing beside him with full determination and will.
Praising the people of the provinces for their vast participation in presidential elections, Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai said the people of Kandahar, Urzgan, Helmand and Zabul provinces had suffered lots of sacrifices in the past one decade and a large number of elders and religious Ulema had been martyred by enemies of the people of Afghanistan.
“The people of Afghanistan should embrace each other and build their country through unity, adding our people have proved their unity in the elections and it’s now necessary to protect these values,” the country’s President said. Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai while stressing that it was difficult to protect the country without national unity said that all Afghans should give hands to each other for consolidation of peace and stability in the country and not to let foreign hands shed their blood. The country’s President asserted that economic development was not possible without maintaining peace in the country, so efforts were underway to bring peace to the country.
