Second VP Chairs Security, Judiciary Meeting On Detainees

Kabul (BNA) The Second Vice-President, Sarwar Danesh chaired the joint meeting of security and judiciary organs on detainees held in Pul-e-Charkhi and Bagram Detention Center here yesterday.
After discussing the subject, the vice president stressed for accelerating the cases of those held in Pul-e-Charkhi Jail, particularly those covered by 62nd presidential decree on pardoning prisoners.
It was decided to set free those detainees whose term of sentence has been completed. The Bagram Detention Center which has been handed over to Afghan government and controlled by defense ministry, it was decided in the meeting to remain in control of defense ministry but in return the special block in Pul-e-Charkhi which is run by the ministry should be given to interior ministry under a protocol to legalize it. According to another report, the Second Vice-President, Sarwar Danesh presided over a meeting attended by officials from the Supreme Court, Attorney General Office, justice ministry and association of defense lawyers from center and provinces with the objective of improving judiciary affairs.
