50 Afghan Security Personnel Rescued After 6 Days Besiege

Maimana City (BNA) About 50 Afghan security forces, since 6 days besieged by Taliban militants were released yesterday evening in northern Faryab province.
Brig Gen. Abdul Nabi Alham police chief of Faryab told BNA reporter, the besieged security personnel are comprise in Afghan National Police, Afghan Border Police and Afghan National Army soldiers, which since six days were surrounded by Taliban militants in Gormach district of the province and with dispatching reinforcement troops to the area the Afghan forces were released.
Seven armed oppositions including their two notorious commanders were killed, five others were wounded and numerous of them fled from the area during clashes with Afghan security forces, Alham added.
Three Afghan National Policemen and several civilians were wounded during the 6 days besiege, Alham concluded.
