Political Will Exists On Fighting Corruption

Wednesday July 13, 2016

Kabul (BNA) The leaders of the National Unity Government (NUG) are about to be prepared for Brussels Summit.
In the summit, the donor countries will gather together to seek the ways of financial assistances to the government of Afghanistan. Likewise, in the summit, the government of Afghanistan will report about its achievements in fighting corruption over the last years and then it will look forward to the donor countries’ commitments. Afghanistan has promised it will bring reforms in the government administrations and the electoral system of the country. However, Arg is making effort to uproot corruption in the country in order to have something to say for representatives of the donor countries in Brussels Summit, but still nothing tangible has done in the connection. Corruption is not only existed in military sector but in services area as well, as few months ago, a number of the Kabul Municipality engineers have been arrested on corruption cases. But political will on fighting administrative corruption is existed, and the leader of the NUG will do their best in this regard. Recently, the donor countries have warned they will stop assisting Afghanistan unless the government of national unity decisively steps up in fighting corruption.
