“Establishments Needed By Afghanistan Shall Not Be Demolished:” Gen. John Allen

Kabul (BNA) President Hamid Karzai met with General John Allen General Commander of ISAF and discussed with him about the military establishment, the artillery attacks of Pakistan on Afghan territory, strengthening of the Afghan Air Forces and reconstruction of the Salang Tunnel.
At this meeting General John Allen said that NATO has strongly condemned the artillery attack of Pakistan on Afghan territory and is studying this issue.
He added that he in his forthcoming visit to Pakistan will discuss the artillery attacks with the Pakistani authorities especially with General Kayani.
He stressed further that the number of military establishments needed by Afghanistan after the withdrawal of the foreign troops will be delivered to Afghanistan so these will be utilized as per its need.
General John Allen called strengthening of the Afghan Air Force as very important and said that serious attention is paid towards training of the Afghan pilots.
He added that in cooperation with the ministry of public works reconstruction work is being continued in the Salang Tunnel and so far USD 5 million has been assisted for its reconstruction and another USD 19 million be expended in this respect.
