FM Meets German Counterpart

Kabul (BNA) Foreign Minister Zarar Ahmad Usmani met with his German counterpart Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier here in foreign ministry yesterday.  According to foreign ministry spokesman office to BNA, hinting on historic friendly relations with Germany, the foreign minister Usmani thanked his German counterpart for the contribution extended by Germany over the past 13 years, adding Afghans would never forget the cooperation and sacrifices offered by Germany over the past 13 years.
Reciprocating his warm welcome, the German foreign minister said, “My visit to Afghanistan is taking place in a critical stage. Germany attaches great importance to peace and stability in Afghanistan and I am very happy that visiting Afghanistan at this juncture to play a role in solving election impasse in your country.” The German top diplomat also said in the meeting, “Germany is determined to remain in Afghanistan after the end of NATO’s combat mission within new framework of NATO here and to play its role in the fields of economy, development and security.
