President Ghani Chairs NSC Meeting

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani chaired the National Security Council (NSC) meeting in ARG yesterday morning, the President Press Office said in a statement to BNA.
The meeting opened with the Security and Defense Sector Ministers and Chief of Army Staff presenting their reports on the general security situation of the country, the statement further said. The meeting then reviewed enemy threats around the country, especially in Eastern, Northern, Northeastern and Southern zones, and issued necessary instructions to the Security and Defense Forces, the statement added. The Acting Minister of National Defense reported that the overall security situation has improved this week in comparison to last week and coordination in command and control of forces has also seen improvements on the national, strategic, operational and tactical levels. The National Security Council thanked the leadership of the Security and Defense Sector and praised the National Security and Defense Forces for their selfless and courageous service. The meeting then reviewed the draft of the National Security Policy. Thanking the Office of National Security Council, Security and Defense Sector Ministries and the Independent Directorate of Local Governments for preparing the comprehensive document, the National Security Council approved the policy.
