President Ghani Chairs Urban Development High Council

Kabul (BNA) Chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, the sixth session of urban development high council was held Monday evening at presidential palace.
In the session, Darul Aman area current condition, development plan of Mohammad Agha district of Logar, construction of residential blocks in Pul-e-Alam and plan for creating bus stations in Kabul were discussed.
Briefing related to current condition of Darul Aman area, Urban Development Minister Sayed Sadat Mansour Nadiri said, “We have now good capacity at Urban Development Ministry and there are high-qualified engineers having capability to do the jobs in a standardized way.”
He added that they were trying to have good programs and plans in urban development sector.
The session discussed related to Darul Aman area and President Ghani by praising the Urban Development Ministry said the 100th Independence Anniversary of Afghanistan should be held at Darul Aman palace, adding that the palace reconstruction work should be completed till that time.
The country’s President further said that working plans should be organized and coordinated and further effort should be made for specification of engineering capacities, stressing that Kabul green areas should be protected.
In the session, Capital Zone Chairman Elham Omar Hotaki delivered the session development plan of Mohammad Agha district in framework of the capital zone.
The plan will include creating agricultural and industrial areas, reconstruction of city transportation system, construction of Mohammad Agha industrial park in 100 hectare land where agricultural products and dairies would be processed, construction of a research center where researches would be done in engineering, agricultural, medical, economic and social sections, construction of Mohammad Agha economical park having zoo, pools, training centers, hotels, mosque and gymnasium and as well construction of Surkhaab dam and electricity networks.
Member of urban development high council discussed related to Mohammad Agha development plan and considered implementation of the plan as key in development of the capital zone.Afterwards, the country’s President by praising the respective plan said the capital zone relevant five provinces had close link like a chain, adding that the main goal for implementation of development programs was to keep population in the respective areas and prevent from their displacement by providing employment and facilities to them in their areas.
