“Addressing People’s Problem Is Government’s Responsibility”: Khalili

Kabul (BNA) The elders and celebrities of the first part of Behsud  district of Maidan-Wardak province met Mohammad Karim Khalili Second Vice-President and urged the government to assist the displaced families  of Behsud and Daimerdad districts.
The elders said that the Kuchis (Nomads) due to efforts made have returned from some parts of Behsud but they are still present in other regions as before.
According to the elders, during the current year hundreds of armed individuals under the name of Kuchis attacked on some  villages of Behsud and Diamerdad displacing some families and caused destruction of farmlands and orchards.
According to the elders, the local authorities have confirmed the presence of the armed opposition forces and other outsiders among Kuchis and claimed that the armed oppositions using the dispute between Kochis and local people have unsecured the relevant areas of Behsud and Dirmardan regions and caused heavy losses to the local people.
They considered the situation of the displaced people as concerning especially on the threshold of Holy Ramadan and asked the government to prepare the ground for their return to their homes and villages.
They also asked for emergency aid to the displaced people and compensation for the damages of their homes, farms and pastures as paid every year for the  occurrence such incidents.
Khalili while regretting over the incidents in Behsud and Daimerdad districts, called for addressing the people’s problems as the duty of the government and expressed hope that the country to reach in a stage where justice, equality and fraternity prevailed and such situations be ended forever.
Khalili assured the elders that emergency aid will be dispatched to the displaced people and their problems will be addressed.
He added that those families displaced in the area will soon receive aid from the national on disaster preparedness administration and as per the instruction of the government leadership, the damages sustained by the people will be assessed by the government departments and it will be compensated.
