Kabul (BNA) Russia has recently announced that cooperates Afghanistan for restoration of peace.
Reacting to this step, the Afghan government authorities have said that they welcome contribution of every country for ensuring peace.
Deputy spokesman of the president Shah Hussein Murtazawi said, “Afghanistan has very good cooperation with Russia in war on drugs and terrorism and every country who helps Afghanistan in restoration of peace and war terror, the Afghan people and government welcome it.
The Afghan MoD authorities believe that role of Russia is very important in Afghanistan change, and this power can take considerable part in Afghan peace process.
Prior to this during a special visit to Russia, the Afghan acting MoD had requested Russia cooperation in war on terror and extremism in Afghanistan and called important the role of regional countries in restoration of peace in Afghanistan.
But now Russia has put aside deal with NATO, enters deal with the Afghan government. Russia special envoy for Afghanistan Zamir Kablov said that his country is ready to contribute in Afghan peace process without any benefit and join peace talks. He asked other countries involved in Afghanistan conflict to put aside their interests and work for peace in Afghanistan.
Two months ago, Russia had asked the Taliban to start peace talks with the Afghan government. On the other hand, the US has asked Russia to further cooperate QCG in Afghan peace talks.
At the same time, the spokesman of the US State Department Mark Tonze said, “No change has taken place in our strategy and we support Afghan government led peace talks.
One of the officials of the US State Department has told the Interfax news agency, “Washington welcomes Russia partnership in political settlement of Afghanistan conflict through joining quadrilateral peace talks.
He added, we invite cooperation of all countries who play positive role in restoration of peace and stability in Afghanistan and the region.
At the same time, in connection with utterances of the Russian special envoy, calling important the role of Russia for ensuring peace in the region, the Defense Minister of Pakistan has said that his country welcomes presence of Russia in Afghan peace process.
Mohammad Yusuf Hemmat an expert said, “Beside Russia, support and cooperation of other regional countries are needed in Afghan peace talks.
But Russia can play good role in this process.
The QCG is a good step and cooperation of Iran and Russia could also be a need unconditionally. Zubair Shafiyee another expert said in recent years, the role of Russia was fading in Afghanistan but now this country intends to play distinguished role like the US and other involved countries in Afghanistan conflict.
