Kabul (BNA) Security and defense forces in the last 24 hours conducting 17 joint offensive operations on strongholds of insurgents in various parts of the country, killed 85 armed oppositions wounded 7 and detained 25 others including 22 suspects.
According to defense ministry press office to BNA, the operations were launched in Kandahar, Nimroz, Helmand, Kandahar, Nangarhar, Urozgan, Ghazni, Faryab, Herat, Baghlan, Logar, Kunduz and Sar-e-Pul provinces, and also vest areas of the enemy have been cleared.
According to another report, four armed oppositions were killed in Logar province last night.
Shahpoor Ahmadzai spokesman of Logr security command told BNA, the insurgents were killed while attack on police checkpoint in Qala-e-Shkor region, of Logar province.
He said, with arrival of supporting forces, other insurgents were fled the site.
Ahmadzi added, two policemen were also injured in the conflict.
