Herat (BNA) Taliban attacked the Herat-Bandar Torghandi highway, abducting dozens of commuters of a passenger bus.
According to reports, several assailants appeared on the highway this morning and stopped the passenger bus, disembarking the passengers and taking them away.
Herat security source, in contact with BNA confirmed the incident.
Efforts are underway to track down and rescue the abducted passengers, he said.
The motive for the abduction has not yet been determined.
The Taliban have not yet commented in this regard.
