Kabul (BNA) As many as 284 Taliban fighters were killed and 205 more were wounded following clashes and reciprocal attacks of Afghan security forces in 12 provinces of the country within the last 24 hours.
Ministry of national defense by releasing a statement reported, the anti-government militias have been targeted in insecure areas of Nangarhar, Khost, Maidan/Wardak, Kandahar, Jawzjan, Sar-e-Pul, Samangan, Balkh, Helmand, Takhar and Kabul provinces.
Some heavy and light weapons, ammunitions and military equipment belonged to the terrorists have been destroyed following the conflicts and raids, the statement added.
Meanwhile, Afghan security troops by discovering and confiscating 15 round of different type of mines succeeded to prevent several bloodiest incident in crowded areas.
The mines have planted to target innocent civilians and Afghan security forces, local officials said.
