2nd Afghanistan-Iran Trade Exhibition Opened

Kabul (BNA) The second trade and industrial exhibition of Afghanistan and Iran was inaugurated here by Second Vice President, Sarwar Danesh and Iran’s vice president Mohammad Shariatmadari yesterday. Speaking on the occasion, the Second Vice President, Sarwar Danesh despite terming trade and economic relations between the two countries very important, but stated that cultural relations especially in the fields of education and higher education is vital. In this regard he added that presently 300,000 pupils and thousands of Afghan students are getting education in the Islamic Republic of Iran, adding Afghans are hopeful that agreements on scholarships would be implemented. Thanking Iran over hosting Afghan refugees, the second vice president said that one of the problems of Afghan refugees living in Iran is Afghan prisoners and hoped that agreements on detainees would be fulfilled.  He also added that fighting terrorism, drug and extremism requires joint struggle of the two countries. 
The vice president Danesh also noted that President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani would soon visit Iran during which matters pertaining inking strategic agreement between the two countries and boosting trade and economic relations among other issues would be discussed.
Speaking on the occasion, Shariatmadari said that Iran is ready to assist Afghanistan in the fields of transport, communication, tourism, energy and economic development between the two nations.  Iran ambassador to Afghanistan, Mohammad Reza Bahrami in his address said that a list of Afghan detainees languishing in Iran jails has been prepared and soon would be submitted to Afghanistan government.
