Concert of Afghanistan Music National Institute’s Artistes Opened

Washington (BNA) The concert of artistes of Afghanistan Music National Institute was opened Monday evening in a gathering of Afghans in Virginia of the USA with the speech of Minister of Information and Culture Dr. Sayed Makhdoom Raheen.
Farid Haidari an Afghan related to Cultural Association of Afghanistan in Washington reports that headed by Dr. Ahmad Nasser Sarmast the head of the said institute, a group of 62 member of music artistes has reached to Washington on Monday on the invitation of State Department of the US and cooperation of World Bank.
Commemorating from growth and rehabilitation of arts in Afghanistan during one recent decade, Dr. Raheen in his speech lauded from efforts made by Dr. Mohammad Nasser Sarmast and the students of national institute of Afghan music.
Then the charge d affairs of the embassy of Afghanistan in Washington Atarud welcoming the guests informed audience about the background of activities of national institute music of Afghanistan.
Likewise, in this ceremony few men of culture of Afghanistan residing in Washington and its suburb areas read out their poems and then some music pieces were performed by young students of the said Institute that were warmly welcomed by audience.
It is planned that the archester of the said institute perform some concerts in State Department of the USA, Afghan embassy, the Hall of World Bank and in Saloon of “Kennedy center” the largest Saloon of the concerts of the USA.
It should be mentioned that the national music institute of Afghanistan has 141 students that majority of them are youth.
