Kabul (BNA) Chairman of Senate Fazal Hadi Muslimyar met Russian ambassador to Afghanistan here yesterday and stressed for accelerating the implementation of the commitment made by his country to Afghanistan, BNA reported.
Thanking the ambassador for warm hospitality provided to Afghan parliamentary delegation during its visit to Russia, the Senate chairman described the visit as positive and said that the Russian officials in Moscow promised the Afghan parliamentary delegation to help Afghanistan in the fields of education, training counter-narcotic police and providing 10,000 pieces of Kalashnikovs to interior ministry. Muslimyar in the meeting hoped that Russia would hand over the promised weapons as soon as possible. The Afghan parliamentary delegation also proposed during the visit to Russia to provide gunship helicopters to Afghan security forces. Russian ambassador said that the process of handing over 10,000 Kalashnikovs would soon be completed and submitted helicopters is under examination.
