Lashkargah City (BNA) Five police personnel were martyred following an armed attack carried out by Taliban rebels on a security checkpoint in southern Helmand province.
Omar Zawak spokesman of Helmand governor told BNA correspondent, the incident took place when a group of insurgents attacked on a security shell in Nawroz Bazar region, Garashk district of the province.
Casualties also suffered to armed oppositions during clashes with Afghan security forces in the attack, but the exact number is not clear.
