KABUL (BNA) Nearly 300 Afghan nationals who were relocated to a camp in Abu Dhabi, UAE, seven months ago during the evacuation process, have returned to the country.
During the evacuation time from Afghanistan, the U.S relocated a large number of Afghan citizens, some of whom had worked with US military and civilian institutions and a number of other Western countries.
It has been said that the number of displaced people were more than 80,000 displaced people in five military camps inside the U.S and other camps set up by this country in Albania, Abu Dhabi, Uganda, Germany, Qatar But during the seven months that have passed since the evacuation, a small number of them have been able to find a normal way of life, and thousands more are still wandering and waiting to be relocated to or relocated to the United States.
U.S. sources have repeatedly said they have reviewed the documents and that they qualify for transfer to the United States, and told the American media that out of 27,000 applicants, only 130 are eligible for permanent residency in the United States. Difficult living conditions were reported in the camps, where displaced Afghan citizens are being held.
Afghans stranded at the Abu Dhabi camp, numbering more than 5,000, staged a demonstration demanding that their cases, which have not been paid for several months, be processed.
The plight of Afghans in the camps has led many to reconsider returning home.
If 300 Afghans who had spent time in temporary refugee camps in Abu Dhabi returned to Afghanistan.
They said, Afghan citizens transferred from the United States to refugee camps in Abu Dhabi faced many problems, and about three weeks before what they called a false promise made by the United States, they staged several days of protests that the United States did not address.
