Acting Foreign Minister Discusses Bilateral Relations with Iranian Ambassador

 

KABUL (BNA): Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate, met with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Hassan Kazemi Qomi, the Special Representative of the Iran President for Afghanistan Affairs, on Wednesday.

Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, the Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reported that the meeting focused on bilateral relations, trade, transit, and recent political developments in the region.

Both parties acknowledged the progressing relations between Afghanistan and regional nations, considering it beneficial for the entire region.Takal also mentioned that the Iranian special representative provided updates on a recent meeting in Doha.

In conclusion, Muttaqi discussed the challenges faced by Afghans in Iran, the enhancement of Afghanistan’s electricity imports, the development of the Chabahar port, and the arrival of water in Nimruz and Sistan due to recent rainfalls and floods. He emphasized the importance of these issues in the context of bilateral relations.
