36pc Afghans Living Under Poverty Line

Kabul (BNA) Minister of Economy says that over 36% of the people of Afghanistan live under the poverty line and the poverty and mal-nutrition and food insecurity is on the increase in the country. 
Abdul Hadi Arghandiwal Minister of Economy told the media that the result of surveys carried out jointly by the ministry and the World indicates this bitter reality. 
He added that poverty, malnutrition and food insecurity has increased in the country while mal-nutrition threatens almost 54% of children under give in the country and 34% of other children in the country are facing weightlessness and another 72% are encountering food insecurity and these are a matter of concern indeed. 
Mrs. Jonifani acting head of the World Bank branch here said that the survey that took place by the World Bank and Economy Ministry had been focused on localities where the people are facing poverty and food insecurity. 
The Minister of Economy and the World Bank representative jointly asked the international community to assist Afghanistan in poverty eradication and reduction of problems emanating from food insecurity.
