Kabul (BNA) The Ministry of Water and Energy has said that the World Bank has accepted to finance electric dam project on Kunar River.
The ministry said if this project is implemented, besides providing plenty of electricity it provides employment opportunities for the people.
On the other hand, construction work of a small dam in Parande region of Panjshir province has been given to a private company.
Minister of Water and Energy while expressing optimism about constructing a dam in Kunar River which produces 1200 MW says that after a lot of endeavors World Bank have accepted to finance this project.
“Constructing of Kunar Dam will secure the area and undoubtedly the electricity which this dam will provide, will meet all the needs of the country,” Minister of Water and Energy Mohammad Ismeal said
