Kabul (BNA) Chaired by Eng. Mohammad Khan, Chief Executive First Deputy and head of commission for distribution of lands to government employees, teachers and repatriates, the first session of the commission was held with participation of representatives of 13 ministries and independent government directorates, Chief Executive Press Office stated BNA.
In the session, head of the commission and all participants insisted that distribution process of government lands had technical problems and was not transparent and needed to be reviewed. Sayed Mansour Sadat, Minister of Urban Development told the session that for enhancement of quality of government towns and encouragement of people, the ministry of urban development was determined to make use of a number of foreign countries’ successful projects plans. In reply to concerns of the commission’s participants related to land mafia, head of the commission and chief executive deputy said unfortunately usurpation of government lands by powerful figures has changed to a culture in the country, adding that serious measures should be adopted in this regard and land mafia should be punished. In the session, representative of ministry of defense Gen. Humayoun Fawzi said based on instruction of the country’s President, MoD was working on a plan in which employees of MoD, MoI and NDS would be annually distributed apartments. He said the plans has been provided and sent to Presidential Palace for approval.
