5 People Arrested Carrying More then 1,200kg Of Drugs in Kunduz

KUNDUZ (BNA) Kunduz security forces arrested five people with 1,233 kilograms of opium from that province late Wednesday.

Qari Obaidullah Abidi, spokesman of Kunduz police chief, told BNA that police of the province arrested the men with 1,233 kilograms of opium, several weapons and two vehicles from the Zanjir zone of Aliabad district in the province.
The detainees confessed to the crime during the initial police investigation, smuggling the drugs from Badakhshan to Kabul. Abidi added.
Meanwhile, the supreme leader of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan issued a decree banning poppy cultivation and drug trafficking in the country.
