Kabul (BNA) the national army personnel discovered and defused 61 different types of mines and 20 kg of explosives and seized a quantity of weapons during a series cleansing operations in the provinces of the country yesterday.
Defense ministry’s spokesman said BNA, the national army personnel launched a cleansing operation in the relevant areas of Sayeedabad district of Maidan-Wardak province, in which a PK machine gun, 2 light weapons and 11 mines were discovered and defused.
Also 20 kg of explosives and 13 mines were discovered and defused by these forces in the relevant areas of Herat and Farah provinces.
These forces also discovered and defused 13 mines during their patrol in Arghanab district of Zabul province.
The national army forces discovered and seized 24 mines from Zheri district of Kandahar province.
According to another report three officials of national army were martyred and three others wounded in explosion of roadside mines in the outskirts of Panjwai district of Kandahar, Baraki Bark district of Logar, Paktia and Helmand provinces.
