56 People Suffered Causalities in Salang Tragedy Accident

PARWAN (BNA) The Arg paid his tribute to the family victims of the incident and wished speedy recovery for the injured one in a message on Sunday.

Local Parwan officials say that 16 lost their lives and 37 to 40 people were injured in the incident.

Acting Director of the Ministry of Public Health, Dr. Qalandar Abad, told the local reporter of Bakhtar Agency that 37 to 40 passengers and drivers were injured and 16 others died due to the tipping of the tractor and the fire in Salang. The health condition of three people is worrying.

The Acting Public Health Minister Dr. Qalandar Ebad said that with the efforts of the health staff, the injured in the Salang accident were transferred to the equipped hospitals of Baghlan, Parwan, Kabul and Kunduz provinces.

Meanwhile, Abdul Karim Fateh deputy Ministry of Public Works, said in an interview with BNA that they have launched a quick operation to open the Salang highway and are striving to open tunnel for passenger vehicles shortly.
