MAIDAN SHAR (BNA) A teenage boy is dead, and ana another is wounded, over water partition, among villagers in Maidan Wardak Province on late Friday.
A deadly clash took place late Friday in Chack district when residents of Zaman Khil and Lour villages took arms over the partition of water.
Mawlawi Mohammad Sharif Halimi, Wardak police chief, told BNA the clash ended with the arrival of security forces under his command.
The father of the teenage boy who died in the clash asked the police to arrest his son’s murderer and hand him over to him.
Meanwhile, Mawlawi Sharif assured him that the perpetrator would be punished according to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan law.
Both sides reportedly agreed to further talks with the Logar police chief to reach a better water-sharing stalemate.
