Cabinet Meeting Discusses Key Points

Kabul (BNA) The cabinet with President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on the chair held meeting yesterday and discussed variety of issues including security situation in the country.
Three relics which include a throne, cap and a necklace bearing the picture of a lady and dated back to Greek civilization and captured from summers by the personnel of national directorate of security, were handed over to the ministry of information and culture to register with national museum.
Matters pertaining national budget of 1395 fiscal, increase in the budget of provinces and increase in the authorities of provincial governors were also discussed.
The provincial governors attended the cabinet meeting also presented their reports on the modalities of local government, ensuring work in the districts, problems in the sector of judiciary, development projects, construction of cool houses, master plan in some provinces, building roads and etc.
Participants in the meeting after discussion approved the policy for making budget for provinces and have tasked the ministry for finance, concerned bodies and local directorate organs to implement the policy.
The plan for sending passport through express post by the minister for communication and information technology and minister for interior was presented to the cabinet and discussed comprehensively.
The cabinet also tasked the said ministries to implement the program.
Meantime, the minister for foreign affairs appraised the cabinet about inking agreement between the ministry for public health and Swiss development and cooperation agency, agreement on allocating land for diplomatic mission and resident house for ambassador of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and agreement on cooperation in the field of energy among SAARC countries and the cabinet after discussion approved first and second agreements but asked the ministries for justice and foreign affairs to examine the agreement on energy cooperation among SAARC states and present its report to the next cabinet meeting. The governors of Herat, Parwan, Bamyan, Daikundi, Nimroz and Kapisa briefed the president during the cabinet meeting on problems and challenges in the said provinces.
After listening to the report, the president said that each governor has authority to evaluate the affairs of concerned province and seek solution.
The president also noted that the problems of lack of the building of administrative units in each province would be solved within the next four years. President Ghani noted if the revenue of any province goes up than fixed by the finance ministry five percent of the revenue would be given back to the province.
The main subject next year includes increase in the income of people, the president said, adding construction of 21 dams is important step in developing the country.
