Kabul (BNA) The 11th martyrdom anniversary of national hero Ahmad Shah Masoud and Martyrs week observed yesterday.
In a ceremony held under the Loya Jirga tent with the participation of officials, Jihadi leaders and diplomats, the acting minister of defense Anayatullah Nazari while highlighting the importance of the day, noted that 18th Sunbullah is coincided with the martyrdom of the national hero Ahmad Shah Masoud who was martyred by the terrorists.
The vice president Marshal Fahim in his speech highlighted the various diminutions of the life of the late national hero who had fought for the cause of Islam and the independence of the country after the communist coup. He migrated and began Jihad and at last he was martyred.
Speaker of the House of People Abdul Rauf Ibrahim also spoke on the occasion, saying Afghans had defeated two invaders over the past one century, Chairman of senate Fazal Hadi Muslimyar also spoke at the ceremony and said that we should try to keep the soul of martyrs happy and serve their families.
Ustad Sayaf also spoke on the occasion. He added that attaining pride is the pride of all individuals of the national.
According to another report, Marshal Fahim in the company of civil and military officials place floral wreath on Resistance Minaret and prayed for his departed soul.
