
KABUL (BNA) Afghanistan Railway Authority says that a preliminary field survey of the Afghan Trans project has been completed in coordination with technical teams from Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
On Monday, during a press conference, the Afghanistan Railway Authority’s officials shared their annual reports with the media here in Kabul.
Speaking to the media the ARA said that practical work on the railway project that connects Central Asian countries with Afghanistan would begin shortly.
Meanwhile, Mullah Bakht-ur-Rehman Sharafat, the head of the Afghan Railway Authority, said that 3.1 billion Afghanis were collected during the past year.
According to him, about 4 million metric tons of transfers have been made through the country’s railways.
The measures show an increase of 22 percent in revenue compared to the 1400 solar year, Sharafat said.
