Kabul (BNA) The turnout of women and girls to be low in the coming elections, this was stated in a joint conference of independent election commission (IED), civil society bodies, women rights organization and the ministry of women affairs here yesterday.
Aimed at giving awareness to women and their participation to the upcoming elections it was said that since the start of voters’ registration process more than 53,000 people have received voting cards, 25 percent of them women which predicts low turnout of women, BNA reported.
Answering the journalists’ questions head of secretariat of the IED Ziaulhaq Omarkhil said that holding the coming elections requires 130 million US dollars and the donors have pledged to donate the fund.
