Wolesi Jerga Seeks Law On Elections

Kabul (BNA) The Walesi Jerga asks for dispatching of the law on elections by the related foundations while some of the deputies say that non-availability of the law puts the work of the election commission in question.
The National Assembly therefore has asked the government that the draft of the elections law which has been presented to the Council of Ministers by the Justice ministry should be sent to the National Assembly because closure of the time of elections it will face the election with challenges.
Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi chairman of the House of People reiterates that the draft law on elections should be sent to the House of People as soon as possible as transparent election require a law and the House of People warned that in case it is not sent to the House of People they will create a 10-member commission to finalize the law and refer it to the general session.
Qazi Nazir Ahmad Hanifi chairman of the judicial commission of the House of People said that the draft of the election law has been prepared by the Independent Elections Commission and sent to the Ministry of Justice and after confirmation by that ministry it has been sent to the cabinet session.
However, the council of ministers has failed so far to official sent the draft law to the House of People through the ministry of State for Parliamentary Affairs.
