Herat (BNA) Prices for sesame have increased in Herat markets due to its export to foreign countries.
According to BNA correspondent, officials of Herat chamber of commerce and industry have said that 10 tons of sesame have been exported to Turkey through the Lajward way.
Hamidullah Naseri general director of agriculture and development office of Herat said that approximately 555 tons of sesame was collected this year in Herat province, but last year 544 tons were harvested.
He said that 4kg of sesame is sold at 500 Afghani, while this figure was worth Afghani 350 last year.
He also said that sesame oil production in that province has been impressive this year.
