President Karzai Expresses Grief Over Casualties Caused By NATO Airstrike In Laghman Province

Kabul (BNA) President Hamid Karzai strongly condemned the killing of eight women as a result of a NATO airstrike in Laghman province.
According to Laghman Governor’s Office, NATO forces carried out an airstrike around 3:00 last night on the Pashaye dominated mountainous area of Sorwat village of Alingar district in Laghman province, killing eight women who had travelled to the area for firewood while injuring their 7 companions.
Deeply saddened by the incident, President Karzai assigned an official delegation to visit the area for further probe into the incident and to report back on its findings as soon as possible.
