Delawar, Stressed Further Economic Bilateral Ties with China

KABUL (BNA) Sheikh Shahabuddin Delawar, Mines, and Petroleum acting Minister, in a meeting with Chargé d’Affaires Deng Yanan, of the China Embassy in Kabul, stressed further economic cooperation and bilateral ties.

“China has had friendly relations with Afghanistan for decades and we want to expand our friendship and cooperation,” said the ministry in a statement.

Yanan while praising the management view of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, was confident in his country’s cooperation with the sector of Mines and said China is ready to invest in the mining sector of Afghanistan.

both sides also discussed expansion of economic cooperation, expressly in relation to opportunities and bilateral cooperation in the Amu Darya and Mes Aynak (copper mine) Sector.

Major companies of Chinses have already contracted the Mes Aynak (copper mines) the contract at Mes Aynak could bring in $250-300 million per year to state revenues, a 17 percent increase, as well as $800 million in fees over the contract’s length.
