MoRRD Completed 100 Water Supply Projects in 25 Provinces

Kabul (BNA) In the past six months, the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) says it has completed 100 water supply projects at a cost of 364 million Afghanis in 25 provinces.

According to BNA, the work of these projects has been done through the water supply and rural health program of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development.

With the completion of these projects, 179 thousand people, including 25 thousand 571 families, have access to drinking water.

These projects include the construction of 67 solar water supply networks which implemented in Badghis, Baghlan, Balkh, Faryab, Ghor, Helmand, Herat, Jawzjan, Khost, Kunar, Nangarhar, Paktika, Parwan, Samangan, Sar-e-pul, Takhar, Uruzgan and Zabul; Construction of 13 gravity networks in Badakhshan, Baghlan, Balkh, Daikundi, Ghor, Kabul, Khost, Nuristan, Paktika, Uruzgan and Zabul, as well as drilling 59 water wells equipped with hand pumps in Daikundi, Farah, Faryab, Kabul, Nangarhar and Maidan Wardak and construction of 42 water reserves in Badakhshan, Badghis, Faryab, Helmand, Jawzjan and Sar-e-Pul.
